Pop quiz hot pot 1. (i’m too lazy to add any description, or any shit, on why i’m posting this here. blah blah blah. zzzzz.)

Oh, just guess. No cheating yo.

1. A 2002 Japanese film, directed by Hideo Nakata; it is about a mother and her 6 year old daughter who moves into a creepy apartment whose every surface is permeated by water. Hollywood came out with a sequel with Jennifer Connelly as the mother.

2. A 2009 film, made in the Netherlands and directed by Tom Six; it is about a mad scientist who mutilates a trio of tourists in order to reassemble them into a new pet. (the pet is created by stitching the mouths of the humans to each other’s rectums)

3. A 2007 Spanish / Mexican film, directed by Juan Antonio Bayona; it is about a woman who brings her family back to her childhood home, where she opens a place for handicapped children. Before long, her son starts to communicate with an invisible new friend. (the executive producer of this film is Guillermo Del Toro)

4. A 2011 Australian film, by Filipino director Carlo Ledesma; it is about an investigation into a government cover-up that leads to a network of abandoned places deep beneath the heart of Sydney. It was released on TV, DVD, Cinema, and BitTorrent simultaneously on the 18th of May.

5. Following the style of the infamous Shake, Rattle, and Roll series; this 2010 Star Cinema produced film is a creative horror movie made up of 5 segments tied together by a similar theme. The titles of the segments are Braso, Paa, Mata, Mukha, and Puso.

6. A 2004 British film, directed by Edgar Wright; it is about a man who decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living. This is the first film in the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy.

7. A 2007 Spanish film, directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza; it is about a television reporter and cameraman who follows emergency workers into a dark apartment building and are quickly locked inside due to a code red by the military. Quarantine is the title of its U.S. remake.

8. A 2006 South Korean film, directed by Joon-Ho Bong; it is about a monster that emerges from Seoul’s Han River. It focuses its attention into attacking people. One victim’s loving family does what it can to rescue her from its clutches. The South Korean translation of the title is Gwoemul.

Bonus:
A 2010 French film, directed by Quentin Dupieux; it is about a car tire, named Robert, who discovers that he has destructive telepathic powers. He soon sets his sight on a desert town and in particular, a mysterious woman becomes his obsession. It is probably one of the weirdest films of 2010.
